National Book Awards Announced

The National Book Award winners have been announced.  The biography of Claudette Colvin took top honor in the Young People's Literature category.  This biography details the life of Colvin, who, like Rosa Parks, refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama bus.  In fact, Colvin actually did it nine months before Parks--and Colvin was only 15 years old! This looks like a great read for teens and I can't wait to get it for our library.

All of the finalists look great and they'll be in our collection soon!
